Costa Rican art goes far beyond the typical tropical offerings found in tourist towns. The country is home to a dynamic and buzzing art communities that are producing exceptional work. Despite this, the country’s art scene lacks the gallery infrastructure and support it deserves.

Most of the artists are based in San José with many buyers based on the Pacific Coast. Potential buyers therefore face logistical challenges navigating the landscape. Even if they can, or are prepared, to drive around the country, it's difficult to locate artists and contact them due to the lack of online presence and clear information. This has created a mystery surrounding Costa Rican artists. MÍRAME aims to change this narrative by providing a platform where art enthusiasts can easily discover, engage with, and support the best artists in Costa Rica.
