Description

From the “A-Simetría Concreta” series.

Experience Kartin Aason’s woven ribbon art, where precision geometry meets vibrant colour. The intricate details of this piece draw your eye to its central motif, which boasts a fusion of orange and black. Aason has purposefully woven each thread to create a unique composition that commands attention.

Versatile and sophisticated, this artwork is suitable for a range of interior settings, from homes to offices. Whether as a standalone feature or integrated into a curated display, you can elevate your space with Aason’s woven ribbon art. Its understated elegance will add depth and visual interest to your surroundings.

Aason’s artworks are inspired by her travels in the Sacred Valley, Peru, and Puebla, Mexico. During these travels in 2019, she explored the history and cultural significance of ancient civilisations, particularly the role of textiles in creating optical illusions and depth through colour. In this series, none of the artworks have titles; rather, each has been assigned a code. Aason explains, “I don’t want to influence people into seeing just one thing… every time something new can be discovered.”

“Each piece is different to the eye simply by how you look at it. Each strip becomes a fragment, a pixel, an experience, a scar.” Aason, 2023
