Peninsula Papagayo Art Week Returns at the Andaz Hotel this festive season

MÍRAME Fine Art presents third edition of curated exhibition Peninsula Papagayo Art Week at Andaz resort, 26 December–2 January 2026

MÍRAME Fine Art announces the return of Andaz Art Week, bringing contemporary Costa Rican art to Peninsula Papagayo for the festive season 2025. The curated pop-up exhibition transforms Studio 3 at Andaz Peninsula Papagayo into a temporary gallery space, running from 26 December 2025 to 2 January 2026. This marks the third edition of the Peninsula Papagayo art initiative, following successful presentations during the 2024 festive season and Semana Santa earlier this year.

Peninsula Papagayo art reaches international audiences

The exhibition represents MÍRAME Fine Art's ongoing commitment to connecting Costa Rican contemporary artists with international audiences visiting the Peninsula. Studio 3, located near the Andaz Lobby, will be equipped with custom gallery walls designed by MÍRAME specifically for the week-long presentation. The studio's large windows overlook Culebra Bay and flood the space with natural lighting that changes throughout the day as the sun moves across the sky.

"The response from guests and collectors in previous editions has galvanized our efforts this festive season," says Belinda Seppings, co-founder of MÍRAME Fine Art. "These conversations about Costa Rica's contemporary art scene have proven invaluable, and we're excited to present new work from established names and emerging voices."

Carolina Guillermet work at Andaz Art Week

This year's selection encompasses painting, including acrylic, oil and watercolour, and textile works from Costa Rica, celebrating the country's contributions to the Latin American art scene. Among the featured artists is Isaac Loría, whose oil paintings depict atmospheric variations within the natural landscape around his farm near Herradura, outside Jaco.

Carolina Guillermet contributes vibrant abstract textile pieces that translate the chromatic energy of Latin American urban environments into layered fields of colour. Her compositions transform emotional states into visual language through carefully constructed colour relationships.

Miguel Hernández Bastos presents new ephemeral paintings created through his distinctive technique of working with smoke from an oil lamp, applying smoke to canvas like pigment. His practice considers questions of transformation and the relationship between mechanical and human forms. The ethereal quality of his smoke-based work creates a particular resonance within the coastal setting.

The exhibition will also introduce two of Costa Rica's leading watercolour artists who continue the country's long tradition of watercolour painting: Juan Carlos Camacho and Ana Elena Fernández.

Supporting local communities

In alignment with Andaz Peninsula Papagayo's community engagement programmes, a portion of all artwork sales benefits Creciendo Juntos. The organisation provides education, health, and development programmes for children and families in the region.

This partnership extends MÍRAME Fine Art's mission beyond cultural promotion to include tangible support for local communities.

Expanding Costa Rica's art presence at Peninsula Papagayo

The Andaz Art Week initiative addresses a gap in Costa Rica's art infrastructure. While the country's biodiversity and natural beauty attract significant international attention, its contemporary art scene receives comparatively limited exposure. MÍRAME Fine Art's pop-up model presents quality work directly to collectors who might otherwise have limited contact with Costa Rican artistic production.

Peninsula Papagayo's growing reputation as a cultural destination complements its established position as a luxury resort community. The art programming adds another dimension to the peninsula's offerings, creating opportunities for visitors to engage with Costa Rican culture beyond nature-based activities.

The timing of the Peninsula Papagayo art exhibition capitalises on increased visitor numbers during the festive season, when international travellers are present in greater concentrations. This confluence creates opportunities for sustained dialogue about Costa Rican contemporary art practices and potentially establishes lasting connections between artists and collectors.
