Description
In EMDR VI, branching forms spread laterally across the full width of the canvas in black and deep red — ink and acrylic on canvas with textile intervention. The work is part of Alessandra Sequeira’s Enraizada – Donde el Miedo se Desvanece series, presented at the Calderón Guardia Museum, San José in 2026, canvases made during and following her engagement with EMDR therapy.
The red here carries a specific meaning for Sequeira — not blood or pain, but a living space, a journey without judgement into the wound. This red and black mixed media artwork is among the most viscerally immediate in the series, the circulatory density of the forms filling the entire surface.
Sequeira is a prominent Costa Rican artist with an extensive exhibition record spanning Costa Rica, Europe and Latin America.
Framing not included.
