In EMDR VIII, tall dark forms rise from a pale blue-grey ground, threads and ink marks cascading downward in dense, forest-like curtains — inks and acrylic, mixed media with textile intervention. The work is part of Alessandra Sequeira’s Enraizada – Donde el Miedo se Desvanece series, presented at the Calderón Guardia Museum, San José in 2026, canvases made during and following her engagement with EMDR therapy.
For Sequeira, this is calm — neural networks rebuilding, the darkest night of the heart depicted as a mangrove of the neural system.
