Drawing inspiration from modern masters such as Gauguin and Picasso, Gonzalez infuses his artworks with Cubist elements and earthy tones, creating vibrant and emotive compositions.
This domestic nude painting offers an intimate and voyeuristic scene reminiscent of the works of Edgar Degas, particularly his depictions of women in domestic settings, often captured bathing or drying themselves.
Gonzalez approached this domestic nude painting with his typical spontaneity, allowing the colours and forms to unfold organically. He notes, “the colours present themselves; they are not planned. They flow through me.”
